The apparitions of Pontevedra in 1925.

.

Lucie becomes a nun.

Lucie very quickly becomes a nun. At fourteen, she left her native country to go to Spain.

She entered the convent of the Dorothea sisters in Pontevedra on October 25, 1925. Her identity is not revealed to the sisters who rub shoulders with her. This instruction of silence had been wanted by Mgr Da Silva.

In this place, she will also benefit from apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The apparition of Thursday, December 10, 1925

She was still only a postulant when, on the evening of December 10, 1925, retired to her cell, she had the apparition of the Virgin and the Child Jesus. The Blessed Virgin then shows her a Heart surrounded by thorns which she holds in her hand.

The Child Jesus said to him:

“Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother surrounded by the thorns that ungrateful men push into her at all times, without there being anyone to make an act of reparation in order to remove them. "

Then our Heavenly Mother said to her:

“See, my daughter, my Heart surrounded by thorns which ungrateful men are driving me at every moment with their blasphemies and their ingratitudes. You, at least, try to console me and say that all those who, for five months, on the first Saturday, will go to confession, receive Holy Communion, recite a rosary, and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, in a spirit of reparation, I promise to assist them at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for the salvation of their soul. "

The spirit of reparation and consolation is therefore put forward during this apparition. It is a question of consoling the Heart of Mary and of withdrawing from it the thorns that we sow in her by our lukewarmness as well as those that the apostates squeeze in her Divine Heart.

The devotion of the first five Saturdays of the month.

This request had been prepared during the apparition of July 13, 1917, when the Blessed Virgin said:

"To prevent war, I will come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of reparation on the first Saturdays".

This Thursday, December 10, 1925, the Blessed Virgin said to him in Pontevedra:

“Look, my daughter, my heart surrounded by thorns that ungrateful men, at all times, break into it with blasphemies and ingratitudes. You, at least, seek to console me and say that I promise to attend the hour of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday, five months in a row, will go to confession, will receive Holy Communion, will recite the Rosary and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the 15 mysteries of the Rosary with the intention of making reparation ”.

The thorns represent the sins of men and the Virgin offers this devotion so that we know how to make amends and penance. For the next two years, February 15, 1926 and December 17, 1927, Jesus insisted on the propagation of this devotion.

Why five Saturdays?

According to a revelation from Jesus, there are five kinds of offenses and blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary:

1) The blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

2) against the Virginity of Mary.

3) against her divine Motherhood and against the refusal to recognize her also as the Mother of men.

4) Some people seek to instill in the hearts of children indifference, contempt, and even hatred, against our Immaculate Mother.

5) There are people who outraged him directly in his holy images.

The conditions of the devotion of the first Saturdays.

1. Confession.

2. The communion of reparation.

3. The rosary prayed for the intentions of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

4. Meditation on the mysteries for 15 minutes.

In these four acts one must intend to make amends to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This devotion was approved by the Bishop of Leiria-Fatima on September 13, 1939.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

It is also advisable to dedicate oneself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

A devotion already existing within the Church.

Already in 1912, the Holy See had granted a plenary indulgence to the faithful who performed, on the first Saturday of any month, special devotional exercises in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary Immaculate, in reparation for the blasphemies whose his name and his prerogatives are the object (Preces and Pia Opera 1938, n ° 335). The request of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Lucia therefore only approves an already existing devotion. Thus those who observe the practices of the first Saturdays proposed by Our Lady of Fatima will fulfill the necessary conditions to win the plenary indulgence promulgated in 1912.
