The Finding of Jesus in the Temple (Luke 2, 41-50)

“His parents went to Jerusalem every year for the Passover feast. And when he was twelve, they went up there, as was the custom for the feast. When the days had passed, while they were returning, the infant Jesus remained in Jerusalem without the knowledge of his parents. Believing him in the caravan, they walked a day, then they began to look for him among their relatives and acquaintances. Not having found him, they returned, still looking for him, to Jerusalem. And it came to pass, after three days, that they found him in the temple, sitting among the doctors, listening to them and asking them questions; and all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. At the sight of him, they were overcome with emotion, and his mother said to him: "My child, why have you done this to us? See! Your father and I, we are looking for you, anxious." And he said to them, "Why then were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand the word he had just said to them. He then went down with them and returned to Nazareth; and he was subject to them. And her mother faithfully kept all of these things in her heart. As for Jesus, he grew in wisdom, in stature and in grace before God and before men. "
