Fourth luminous mystery.
The Transfiguration. (Luke 9, 28-36)
“About eight days after he spoke these words, Jesus took Peter, John, and James with him, and he went up the mountain to pray. As he prayed, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothing became dazzlingly white. Behold, two men were talking with him: they were Moses and Elijah, appeared in glory. They were talking about his departure which was about to take place in Jerusalem. Peter and his companions were overwhelmed with sleep; but, remaining awake, they saw the glory of Jesus, and the two men beside him. They were moving away from him when Peter said to Jesus: “Master, it is good that we are here! Let's make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah. He didn't know what he was saying. Peter had not finished speaking, when a cloud arose and covered them with its shadow; they were seized with fear when they entered it. And from the cloud a voice was heard: "This is my Son, the one I have chosen: listen to him!" And while the voice was heard, there was only Jesus, alone. The disciples were silent, and in those days they did not tell anyone of what they had seen. "
