First joyful mystery:

The Annunciation. (Luke 1, 26-38)

“In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent of God to a city of Galilee, called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. He entered and said to her: "Rejoice, full of grace, the Lord is with you." At this word she was quite disturbed, and she wondered what this greeting meant. And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. Behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God shall give him the throne of David his father, and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his reign shall not end. " But Mary said to the angel: "How will it be, since I do not know a man?" The angel answered him, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the holy being who is born will be called the Son of God. And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, she too, has conceived a son in her old age, and she is in her sixth month, she who was called sterile; for nothing is impossible with God. " Mary then said: "I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word!" And the angel left her. "
