Bishop Höser, the Holy Father's Special Envoy in Medjugorje, for Easter 2019, said:

“For two thousand years, there has been no better news than this: the risen Jesus, Son of God, has been looking for us where we are. He is not afraid to approach us, to touch us in our depths and to take us to the fullness of life. This miracle takes place every day here in Medjugorje. We return to the grace of our baptism and become able to spread the faith of the Church and to walk the path of holiness and salvation ”.

Furthermore, he added that Saint John Paul II, in 2000, presented the first Sunday after Easter as the Sunday of Divine Mercy, "the greatest fruit of his death and resurrection"

What does the catechism of the Catholic Church tell us about the Mystery of Easter ?

1163 “Our Mother the Holy Church considers that it belongs to her to celebrate the saving work of her divine Bridegroom with a sacred commemoration, on fixed days, throughout the year. Each week, on the day that she has called "Lord's Day", she commemorates the Resurrection of the Lord, which she celebrates once a year, at the same time as her blessed Passion, with the great solemnity of Easter. And she unfolds the whole Mystery of Christ during the cycle of the year ... While thus celebrating the mysteries of redemption, she opens to the faithful the riches of the virtues and merits of her Lord; in this way, these mysteries are in some way made present throughout time , the faithful are brought into contact with them and filled with the grace of salvation "(SC 102).

1164 The people of God, from the Mosaic law, have known fixed feasts from the Passover, to commemorate the astonishing actions of God the Savior, to give him thanks, to perpetuate the memory of them and to teach the new generations to conform their conduct to them. . In the time of the Church, situated between the Passover of Christ, already accomplished once and for all, and its consummation in the Kingdom of God, the liturgy celebrated on fixed days is entirely imprinted with the Newness of the Mystery of Christ.

1165 When the Church celebrates the mystery of Christ, there is a word that marks her prayer: Today! , echoing the prayer taught to him by his Lord (cf. Mt 6:11) and the call of the Holy Spirit (cf. Heb 3, 7 - 4, 11; Ps 95, 7). This "today" of the living God into which man is called to enter is the "Hour" of the Passover of Jesus which runs through and carries all of history:

Life has spread over all beings and all are filled with a broad light; the Orient of the Orient invades the universe, and He who was "before the morning star" and before the stars, immortal and immense, the great Christ shines on all beings more than the sun. This is why, for us who believe in him, a day of light is established, long, eternal, which will not be extinguished: the mystical Passover (St. Hippolyte, pasch. 1-2).
