The Cenacolo community was founded by Sister Elvira Petrozi in 1983, in Saluzzo, Italy, to help young drug addicts.

 

Her desire is to make them meet Jesus Christ, that they know the Gospel and build their lives on the values ​​of the Christian life. Strict rules are given within the community where they pray the Rosary every day, where they fast, practice Eucharistic adoration and go to confession.

The boys of the Cenacolo willingly give testimonies about their conversion. In general, for many years, a day or a half-day during the Youth Festival has been devoted to them. They explain that they stay in the community for a few months or even several years in order to find a balance in life.

Pilgrims willingly visit their community not far from Podbrdo, the hill of the Apparitions. They receive them in their chapel where they explain the icon or in places provided for this purpose. Speaking about their lives  is also a  therapy for them.

​

Once a year in summer, during the Youth Festival, they give a show that talks about the Christian faith. The quality of the show is generally very appreciated by the parishioners who come to see the show with their family. Thousands of young people of all nationalities appreciate it too. In winter, they also animate the parish by building a crib not far from the parish church. They thus give during the Christmas period several performances  of the living crib with songs and dances.
