Third Sorrowful  mystery.

The Crowning with Thorns. (Mt 27, 27-31).

“So the governor's soldiers took Jesus to the hall of the Praetorium and gathered all the guard around him. They took off his clothes and covered him with a red cloak. Then they plaited a crown with thorns and put it on his head; they put a reed in his right hand and, to make fun of him, they knelt before him, saying: “Hail, King of the Jews! And after they had spat on him, they took the reed and hit him on the head. When they had mocked him well, they took off his mantle, put his clothes back on him, and led him away to crucify him. "
