Šurmanci is a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina . It is located in the municipality of ÄŒapljina , in the District of Herzegovina-Neretva and in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina . It is about seven kilometers from Medjugorje.

The parishioners and pilgrims of Medjugorje usually go to the Church of Divine Mercy in this village, more especially on the first Sunday after Easter, on the feast of Divine Mercy instituted by Saint John Paul II. Some go there on foot, others by car or bus. This church is located along the Neretva river. Why did it become famous?

Because a group of Italian pilgrims from Trento donated an icon of Merciful Jesus to the parish. This icon was not without significance since a miraculous healing occurred before it and it was one of the proofs used for the beatification of Sister Faustina Kowalska.

Pilgrims from Medjugorje like to come and pray in front of this icon when they have the possibility. They pray more precisely the Rosary of Divine Mercy there .
