Mostar is a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina located in the District of Herzegovina-Neretva and in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina . Mostar is about 30 kilometers from Medjugorje. Besides the fact that there is an airport, pilgrims from Medjugorje also go there to visit the city.

Pilgrims usually visit Mostar's Old Bridge (Stari Most), the Cathedral and the Franciscan Convent.

The Old Bridge was a 16th century bridge that connected the two parts of this city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It made it possible to pass from one bank to the other of the Neretva river. It overlooked the Neretva from a height of 29 meters. This bridge of great solidity has withstood all conflicts for centuries except the last. It was destroyed in November 1993 during the war between Croats and Bosnians. It was rebuilt in 2001 and inaugurated on July 22, 2004. The inauguration was placed under the sign of the reconciliation of the two Bosnian and Croatian communities. The Old Bridge and its surroundings in the heart of the old town of Mostar were classified as World Heritage by Unesco in 2005.

The Catholic Cathedral of Mostar is the Cathedral of Mary, Mother of the Church. (Katedrala Marije Majke Crvkve). It was inaugurated in 1980 and is the cathedral of the Catholic diocese of Mostar-Duvno. It is a post-modern concrete building. Inside are contemporary stained glass windows.

The church of the Franciscan convent was destroyed during the war. It was rebuilt and completed in the year 2000.
